There is a lot of confusion these days about what it means to be a mature man. Too many of us find ourselves isolated, overworked, and unsure about how to do our inner work. This is no surprise given the overwhelming demands placed on men by society. Despite 50 years of feminism which has empowered women, most men continue to be damaged by distorted patriarchal programming. Many cultures around the world have rites of passage that guide boys into becoming mature men. In the U.S. today, very few of us have had this transformational experience.
Through exercises and mini-lectures, this daylong experiential workshop will be a safe space to:
- Connect to and embody the masculine archetypes
- Cultivate a deeper moment-to-moment presence
- Explore the relationship between the masculine and the feminine
- Shed light on our shadow side
- Bond with each other
- Take home practices to continue the work of expanding self-awareness
This is both a stand-alone introductory workshop and can also be the entry to a series of evening groups that will continue to explore what it means to be a man. Future groups will address how to heal our wounds with courage, compassion and humor, discover our gifts and how to share them, learn how to create true intimacy, free ourselves from the collective patriarchal oppression and be in the world with joy and integrity.
Now, more than ever, the world needs grounded men with open hearts to step forward and do our share to heal the world.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you.
